The home birth of Mia in Navarre, FL

When you open the dictionary to look up the meaning of Strength and Beauty you’ll find these photos of Hannah carrying and birthing her second baby. A daughter. A beautiful little girl. After days of prodromal labor things finally kicked into gear. Hannah’s doula, Taylor, and I arrived at her home ready to support her however we could. Her midwives came and checked in and left to give her space. A few hours later after birthing so beautifully with Taylor by her side Hannah’s water broke! Then things got intense quickly! Her dad filled the birth pool and we called the midwives to come back. She made her way to the birth pool and was ready to start pushing.. what seemed like moments later there she was. A beautiful little girl in her arms. She was so calm and cool, a true goddess in that moment.

Mia’s daddy wasn’t able to physically be at her birth, her was serving our country. He was able to be there via facetime though! He encouraged and held space thousands of miles away. Not missing a thing visually.

I knew I couldn’t leave their story like that. The whole story wasn’t told. The puzzle wasn’t complete. When Daddy got home a few weeks later, and met his littlest love for the first time, I had to photograph it. The moment they finally all four embraced, held in time forever. I’m so honored Hannah trusted me to document this chapter for her family.
